Our Mission:

Healthy Technique for All Ages & Styles of Singing

In our studio, we focus on vocal health for all styles of singing, at all ages and stages of vocal development.  We also teach the foundations of musicianship, including sight-singing and music theory, as well as song interpretation, acting, and performance.  Students have numerous performance opportunities throughout the year, including recitals, studio classes, masterclasses, community service performances, and Broadway nights.  Our students range in age from 5 to 92, and we cultivate each student’s unique voice and interests, encouraging enjoyment at all levels of singing – from the novice to the professional.

Foundational Basics of Our Pedagogy:
  • Healthy Breathing
  • Natural Vowels
  • Ease of Production
  • Physiologically Informed Singing
  • Dramatic Integrity

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The Andrea Saposnik Voice Studio is firmly committed to celebrating diversity, equity, and inclusion in the arts.  This extends to all races and nationalities, the LGBTQIA+ community, the disabled, and the neurodivergent.  There is space for all in musical performance, and we stand together as allies, working for a world shaped by all of us.

The studio itself has no steps, and is therefore accessible to people with physical impairments.

Our studio is gender- and sexuality-affirming, and we are a safe space for students of all backgrounds to explore their personhood.

Studio History

8 Main Street, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY 10706

It all began in 2003 in Andrea’s living room in Dobbs Ferry, NY, with five students.  As word of mouth spread and student enrollment grew, Andrea established a studio in downtown Hastings-on-Hudson to provide a centrally located and dedicated space for teaching.  The studio’s reputation continued to flourish, and summer programs were founded, students were given the opportunity to study with Andrea in Italy, group classes were developed, and online options were added.  In 2019, the studio proudly welcomed a second teacher, Amy Linden, who enriches the program with expertise from her own background in contemporary commercial music.

The Andrea Saposnik Voice Studio continues to respond to the interests and needs of its students, and we are excited for what the future will bring!

Student Success Stories

Our students are regularly cast in lead roles in professional, school, and community theater productions, and are frequently selected for both All State and All County Choruses.  Many of them have continued their vocal studies in popular, musical theater, and classical genres at top music schools, including Eastman School of Music, Oberlin Conservatory, Westminster Choir College, Pace University, Marymount Manhattan College, New York University, Boston University, and Berklee College of Music.

Equally important to us are our students’ personal successes.  Their vocal studies give them confidence, not only as performers, but in other areas as well; they are empowered to use their voices in ways that enrich their lives and those of others.

Studio classes, as well as occasional duets and trios, help them to become successful listeners and collaborators, and regular recitals provide them with arenas to explore their newfound skills.  Through the connections that we build in the studio, our students learn that singing is a fun, self-affirming means of expression.
